Before starting to explore how I will go about fulfilling the brief, I have found it beneficial to look over some of my older work that i have done in animation and time line based narrative work, and try to remember the process in which I made them successful pieces.
This Piece was for the last project of my first year at university, the brief was to make a narrative based piece with the theme of identity, I chose to do a kinetic typography animation as it incorporated the use of typography which I am very familiar with, with animation and time based sequences which I was not. In this project I learnt how to use after effects which has been a helpful tool not only when making videos but it has also helped me realise potential in an area i had not before tired my hand at.
Following on from this project I tried to re-create some 1980s motion graphics, to try and keep my understanding of the uses of after effects fresh and also develop my skills. If anything these animations aren't overly impressive, but they helped me to experiment with the different tools and techniques available in after effects.
